Taylor Swift may not have been by Travis Kelce’s side at the 2026 NFL Honors, but the Kansas City Chiefs star still made sure she was part of the celebration.
Following the awards ceremony on February 5, Kelce — who was among the 32 nominees for the prestigious Walter Payton Man of the Year award — attended an exclusive afterparty hosted by his Tight End University organization. The event took place in San Francisco and featured a high-energy DJ set from electronic duo Loud Luxury.
Kelce Turns DJ and Plays a Taylor Swift Hit
At one point during the party, Kelce stepped behind the DJ booth alongside Loud Luxury, and fans won’t be surprised by what happened next. The tight end cranked up a dance remix of Swift’s Billboard Hot 100–topping track The Fate of Ophelia.
Videos from the event show Kelce smiling, singing along, and dancing to the beat — even attempting his own playful turntable scratch. Loud Luxury later shared clips on Instagram Stories of Kelce vibing behind the booth, clearly enjoying the moment.
A Star-Studded Night in San Francisco
The afterparty was held at Public Works, shortly after the NFL Honors ceremony at the Palace of Fine Arts. While Kelce didn’t take home the Man of the Year award, the honor ultimately went to Bobby Wagner of the Washington Commanders.
Later that evening, the Chiefs shared a TikTok video showing Kelce congratulating Wagner backstage, highlighting the camaraderie among players despite the competitive stakes.
Taylor Swift Busy With ‘Opalite’ Release
While Kelce celebrated with fellow NFL stars, Swift was preparing for a major music moment of her own. The singer had just released the music video for Opalite on Spotify and Apple Music.
The visual marks the second video from her Billboard 200–topping album The Life of a Showgirl, following “The Fate of Ophelia.” The video stars Swift alongside Domhnall Gleeson, Graham Norton, Greta Lee, and Lewis Capaldi — all of whom appeared with her on The Graham Norton Show last October.
How the Video Came Together
After the video dropped, Swift took to Instagram to explain how the idea came together. She recalled feeling “ridiculously lucky” to be seated with such a creative group during the talk show taping. A joking comment from Gleeson about wanting to appear in one of her music videos sparked the entire concept.
Within a week, Swift had written a script and emailed it to him, officially turning a lighthearted moment into a full-fledged production.
